AFOS Tuesday Talk
By Dr. Tyson Brunstetter
Join AFOS Member, Dr. Tyson Brunstetter, as he presents a 1-hour COPE course titled, "An Update on Spaceflight Associated Neuro-ocular Syndrome (SANS) and its Risk to Astronauts".
Discovered in 2005, Spaceflight Associated Neuro-ocular Syndrome (SANS) affects long-duration astronauts, causing optic disc edema, retinal nerve thickening, globe flattening, hyperopic shifts, and chorioretinal folds. Its pathogenesis is unclear, with potential brain changes under investigation.
