Dr. Luther Solverson's passing
We are very sad to report the passing of AFOS Life Member and 50 year AOA member, Dr. Luther Solverson on April 26, 2024.
Dr. "Luke" Solverson completed almost 40 years of reserve and active service in the U.S. Army, receiving accolades including the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star Medal, and the Expert Field Medical Badge. Dr. Solverson served as AFOS President in 1991-1992
Upon retiring from service, Dr. Solverson continued practicing optometry at Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Georgia from 2004 to 2015.
He is survived by his wife, Joan, three daughters, and seven grandchildren.
