H. Lindsay Wright, OD
Executive Director
Dr. H. Lindsay Wright, originally from Cleveland, Ohio, ventured out west to go the University of Colorado Boulder and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Kinesiology. She then followed her dreams of becoming an optometrist at Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry and graduated in 2003.
Having met her husband, John, while in Florida, they decided to move to Colorado right after her graduation. In 2005, she started an optometry practice cold in a small previously unserved community north of Denver. She built the practice into a thriving, state-of-the-art business, with 10 staff members including two doctors.
During this time, Dr. Wright started her service in organized optometry with the Colorado Optometric Association. In 2007, she began her involvement as a Leadership Optometry candidate, served on several committees and contributed time as a keyperson. The following year, she was elected to the COA Board of Trustees where she served two terms before being elected to the Secretary/Treasurer position from 2012-2014. During that same time, she served as the President of the Northern Colorado Optometric Society from 2009-2014. She was named Colorado Young Optometrist of the Year in 2009.
In 2014, she sold her practice and subsequently accepted a position as the Associate Executive Director of the Colorado Optometric Association. In 2015, she then accepted a position as the Executive Director of the Armed Forces Optometric Society (AFOS). Here she believes she can continue to contribute her passion and dedication to promoting, protecting and progressing the optometry profession. Dr. Wright continues to care for patients on a limited schedule in Colorado.
Dr. Wright and her husband have 3 daughters and enjoy chasing them around, hiking, skiing, traveling, and cheering for her Buffs!
