Join AFOS Member, Dr. Chris Alferez, as he presents a 1 hr COPE approved course titled: "Papilledema vs Pseudopapilledema: A Diagnostic Quandary". This lecture will help clinicians understand how to diagnose papilledema and pseudopapilledema, and understand the critical differences between them. To further develop the understanding of these two similar findings, four case studies will be discussed.
Dr. (LTC) Chris Alferez is an Active Duty Army Optometrist and the Chief of Optometry at the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center in Fort Cavazos, TX. He received his Doctor of Optometry Degree from Southern California College of Optometry and completed his residency in Primary Care Optometry at Brooke Army Medical Center, Joint Base San Antonio, TX. He also received a Master’s Degree in Health Professions Education from Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a Fellow of the Scleral Lens Education Society. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, fishing, and hiking.
