We are very sad to report the passing of AFOS member, Dr. George Nicolas "Nick", Jr. on December 21, 2024.
Dr. George Nicolas Jr. (Nick), beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on December 21, 2024, at age 71, after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer.
A Colonel in the U.S. Air Force, Nick served as an optometry officer for 30 years, earning accolades like the Bronze Star and leading numerous successful initiatives in military healthcare.
Known for his vibrant and creative spirit, he was an accomplished drummer, marathon runner, and avid mechanic, whose ingenuity and generosity inspired all who knew him.
Nick cherished his family, especially his grandchildren, and found fulfillment in serving others through optometry and community involvement. His legacy of love, service, and creativity endures in the countless lives he touched.
