AOA Website

The AOA website is full of very useful resources, including links to CDC and HPI (Health Policy Institute) guidelines. Plus, you can find the recording from the 3.31.20 webinar on all the Federal crisis relief legislation available to assist optometrists during this pandemic, including details on the CARES loans, unemployment, leave and more.

(From 3.18.20) "The AOA supports the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) patient care guidance issued on March 17 and the efforts of state and local authorities as well as state boards of optometry to combat further community spread and a wider outbreak. Also of critical importance are immediate efforts to assure continued access to essential health care, including urgent and emergent care provided by doctors of optometry, and to reduce current and expected burdens on emergency departments."

American Academy of Ophthalmology Recommendations

(As of 3.19.20) "Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the American Academy of Ophthalmology now finds it essential that all ophthalmologists cease providing any treatment other than urgent or emergent care immediately."
